We are excited that NDIS is introducing a new pricing framework for supported employment that will give NDIS participants greater choice and control about where and how they work, creating new opportunities for providers and models of support.
Supported employment will no longer be defined by the nature of the workplace, but the intensity and frequency of support needed.
This means that participants will be able to purchase intensive or frequent on-the-job employment supports using their NDIS plan funding and use them in any setting including social enterprises, micro-businesses, open employment and self-employment.
Generally, these supports are greater than what may be reasonably provided by an employer through reasonable adjustments or with the support of the Disability Employment Services (DES) system.
